School of Scratch video tutorials now feature “Video Chapters” which make it super easy for you to jump to each section of the tutorial when viewing on a laptop or desktop computer. This saves you scrolling through the video trying to find the part that you want to watch.
How Video Chapters Work
Make sure you are viewing on a laptop or desktop computer. This won’t work on mobile devices.
Take a look at this screenshot of the chirp tutorial:
On the video play bar above you can see some dots which represent the video chapters and also a chapter list which appears when you click on the chapters icon next to the cog in the bottom right of the video.
When watching a tutorial, if you rollover the dots, the name of the chapter will appear and you can click on them to take you to that chapter.
Or, you can click on the chapters icon next to the cog in the bottom right of the video to bring up a clickable list.
Lets see it in action
In this video of the chirp scratch tutorial below, you can see me hovering over the dots on the play bar to reveal the chapters and then using the menu chapters on the right next to the cog icon. (Video has no sound, this is just a demo of how the chapters work.)
Try it out for yourself!
You can play with this new feature in the free chirp tutorial video below. Try clicking on the dots on the play bar or click on the chapters icon next to the cog in the bottom right of the video to bring up a clickable list of chapters. Click and jump to any section of your choice.
Cool right? This makes it super easy to navigate tutorials or revisit them and skip to the parts you want to study and work on.
I am super stoked for this new feature on our videos and for what it makes possible for our students. Wanna join us?
