“I’m thoroughly enjoying the tutorials. Your explanations and how to’s are really clear and concise. I wish this type of learning was available 20 years ago! I had to rely on mixtapes and grainy VHS videos for tips.”

“I’ve learned so much in the month and a half that I’ve been enrolled. I appreciate you more than you can imagine. You have taken my scratches from below average to outstanding. The way you teach is perfect. I can’t wait to get home and watch the videos. Thank you again”

“I just want to say thanks.. what an amazing site and community you’ve built. The content is amazing, and your onboarding emails were fantastic. I can see it’s been a labour of love for you over the years!
I’m prepping myself to embark on the 100 days challenge. Just reorganising rooms in my house so the decks are in my home office rather than down the other end of the house – they need to be close and convenient so i can practice with no barriers!
You’ll hopefully see some updates from me in discord soon
Thanks again!! Can’t wait :)”

“Hello Emma,
Your content and way of being is so refreshing. I started scratching in the mid-90’s. DJ’s in the US where very tribal and judgmental then. Even my own crew back then was stressful to be around and that left a mark on me. After returning to scratching I noticed that there is still a “I’m better than you tone” in a lot of the scene still and your content is void of any of that, for me that is priceless. You’re humble, your lessons or well formatted and high quality, you have a thoughtful curriculum, and you are working hard to build and sustain a healthy commitment, bravo. I never thought I’d take lessons to scratch, since as you know, back in the day is was “listen and figure it out on your own” but I’ve learned so much from you already in just a month. Great job all around!”

“I heard that deliberate practice was the most effective way of learning, but without School of Scratch I wouldn’t have a clue what that is, and all the layers of stuff you’ve put into the resources etc. it’s pure gold. If I ever get the chance one day to promote this school I will! It really puts beginners like myself at a massive advantage! Honestly I’m astounded by what I’ve learnt in such a short space of time!”

” “No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting from scratch. To be successful, we absolutely, positively have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals.”
A real estate mentor shared this quote to me over 10 years ago as I embarked on a real estate career post college. Being a workholic, and having a obsessive personality I realized I just wanted to focus on hobbies and only needed to work to eat. Work to live, not live to work. Hence, gov gig…while “retired” I found this quote written in some journal I kept. …works for scratching. While learned starting from scratch with no help, that would be a lie. I basically studied legends. And mimicked every juggling pattern I could with no cigar. While doing so on & off half my life, and never seeking out people for false pride and big of an ego to share secrets I realized I could learn more of course from those obviously better. And what best to pinpoint things in a matter of seconds in their expertise that took me 1,000 hours to figure out and still wasn’t a master. Long shot. Finding passionate people, is the key. Instead of locking myself in the basement trying to figure it out. If only I went to school for it, but I found there is one ? School of Scratch …365 days of scratching begins 2022.”

“I just want to mention that becoming a School Of Scratch member has been one of the best things that has happened in my life time. Even though I have never met any of you, I consider all of you close friends & family. Emma thanks again for creating a scratching community as fulfilling as this is.”
– Dylan, USA

I started the first few lessons though and they are amazing. I feel like I’ve learnt so much from them already and I’m really looking forward to more 🙂
School of Scratch is hands down THE best way to learn how to scratch, no other experience comes even close to how thorough everything is!!!
From beginner to advanced, everything is perfectly explained unlike anywhere else I have seen.
Emma videos hold your hand from your very first baby step all the way though to becoming a scratch expert!
– Thomas Colinet
My experience has been great. I love the community aspect, the challenges, achievements and all of the resources. You’ve got a lot of really interesting stuff on their about motivation and being deliberate that really go beyond scratching, practises that I find myself applying to other interests as well. So it’s been really good. For anyone considering joining the school I would just say “get in here!”, join up, be prepared to work hard and you’ll get to where you want to be. Everyone in the school is so welcoming and supportive that it’s a no brainer for me. SOS 4LIFE!
– Smallimus
I am super happy that I found the place and I can recommend joining the school 100%. It is very rare to find communities on the web that are so supporting and free of hate & jealousy. It is just a place of helping each other out plus you are getting access to all the content you need to become good at this. Emma is doing a killer job and you will get to know so many people who are having fun learning how to scratch and even folks who have been in this for a very long time and will help you out wherever they can with their scratch wisdom. SoS Love! ?❤️
– Toby Tobsucht, Germany
My school experience has been motivational and inspirational. I love the fact that there are video tutorials and tools that can help you learn at your own pace.
My advice to others who are considering joining the school would be that it’s a great opportunity to improve on your scratching / a great opportunity to learn more about the art from others.
– DJ Jerry
If you’re already thinking of joining School of Scratch, I’ll say this. I joined because I knew nothing, more or less. I required help, and hoped I’d find it within the School. I did.
Everyone has been really helpful, people are courteous and it’s an all around great community for scratching!

From one of our Lifetime Members in our private members only Facebook group:
“Morning gang, just want to draw everyone’s attention to this dope little lesson I discovered yesterday, as it’s tucked away in the Scratch & Music Theory section of the site. It’s a simple little idea, but really effective when you start to experiment with it!
I think I spent about an hour last night going Funky-Ky Do-Dope over and over again. https://schoolofscratch.com/stutter-vocal-cuts/“
A comment about our 100 days of scratching community challenge / project:
“I am on day 14 of 100 days . For 2 weeks I have been doing beginner scratch drills at varying bpm (mostly baby’s and drops) along w my daily 100 day challenge . I’ve been focused on just developing a habit of good practice . Over the 2 weeks this has had many positive effects . But this weekend during my slew of events I could FEEL the difference . When I transitioned out of tracks and freestyled a cut or a scratch to get to the next tune . My relationship w the 1 and my dexterity was noticeably better .
I am beyond grateful and committed to more
Thx so much”“What I was hoping would happen is happening . I don’t worry about progress. My mission is to create a habit. As a working DJ it’s easy to fall into the habit of practice when you perform. You never really progress because you are really just treading water. My aim is to make practice habitual. From the habit will come progress. I can already hear it ?! Day 15 part 2”

Where I am now is because of School of Scratch. It’s the best online scratch school investment I can make. I had a great time to learn, to develop creativity and to explore scratching. I don’t have enough words to thank you. Wowwww ,wooowww
Thanx a lot teacher. (Emotions)
You have changed my whole aspect on my learning, I wouldn’t be where I am today without your encouragement and your guidance.
Thank you for everything.
I just wanted to take some time to express how I enjoy being in your class.
Without you I never would have been able to master djing the way I do. Being able to count on you and my classmates for extra help is really special to me and shows me how much you care about the happiness and success of your students.
Thank you once again for everything.
My scratching is so much better after becoming a member. I like the community where I can always get help and support, interactions by members and I had access to a lot of videos that explained everything in great detail. I would highly recommend to everyone who is interested in scratching to join because they will most likely benefit a lot.
I love being a ? student.
From beginner to advanced, everything is perfectly explained.
I will recommend anyone who’s interested in scratching to join ?, it’s a big family with love.
My experience at School of Scratch couldn’t be better!
I had access to a lot of videos that explained everything in great detail and although Emma is not at your side performing the scratch, you really feel like she is!

Where I am now is because of the School of Scratch. My scratching really took a turn for the better after becoming a member. I like the community where you can always get help, as well as interactions by members, the video tutorials are awesome and easy to learn because Emma breaks it down for you.
It’s the best online scratch school investment you can make as well as being cost friendly, I was skeptical at first to join knowing my experience with other schools but I read one of her blogs and that sold me and I became a member.
– DJ I-Cious
I’m loving and enjoying being ? student, I used to learn to scratch on YouTube, they are also good but it’s hard for me as a beginner to catch up, ? has a perfect system from setting up equipment to counting bars and all scratches is taught step by step, Emma explained it all in very clean details. I’d recommend anyone who’s interested in scratching to join ?, it’s a big family with love, and Emma is a super nice teacher, she would help you out if you’ve any question!
